  • Supporting 250 young people with disabilities in formal and non-formal educational and livelihood programmes, in Shillong and TURA. There was a major thrust on inclusion, as a strategy for mainstreaming disability .
  • Working with over 1200 persons with disability and their families (residing in 400 villages of7 Blocks, in 2 Districts of Meghalaya) to access educational, health, livelihood, social and empowerment programmes of the local Government.
  • Facilitating the formation and strengthening of Disabled People’s Organisations (DPOs) in every District of Meghalaya and training them towards building …. an inclusive, barrier-free, rights based society for all .
  • Joining State and Regional level networks for creating synergies for greater impact, especially for promoting the rights of vulnerable groups such as persons with disability .
  • Commencing a B.Ed. Programme in Special Education in collaboratrion with North Eastern Hill University, Shillong.
  • Developing the Capacity of SHGs of persons with disability and made available Micro-credit to 80 persons with disability for livelihood initiatives.
  • Training 100 teachers of the SSA ( Education for All ) Programme of the Government and other NGOs to manage inclusive classroom environments.
  • Establishing an Orthopaedic Rehabilitayion Centre at TURA
  • Mobilizing communities in 100 villages of3 Blocks, to form 300 Self Help Groups (SHGs) and thus enhancing opportunities for improving livelihoods .
  • Conducting trainings in over 30 remote locations for building capacities of communities to manage their natural resources, through application of appropriate technology. Over 1000 people attended .
  • Pioneering “Bokashi” farming, organic farming practices and livestock management for enhancing choices for livelihoods .
  • Improving training facilities at Tebrongre (West Garo Hills) and Shillong for natural resource management.
  • Encouraging and supporting 40 of our staff members to enhance their ski II s for more effective personal and professional management.
  • Helping more than 500 below the poverty line ( BPL ) senior citizens of the West Garo Hills District of Meghalaya to avail of the Government Social Programmes and thus live life with dignity .
  • Collaborating with the TURA Municipal Board to design a sanitation programme for over 1000 families.
  • Setting up systems for Financial sustainability of Programmes.
